  • Complete - more detailed instructions wil be done. I have another light to document here.

Introduction

I built a wine barrel fountain for the backyard. I decided to add some lighting to it. I wanted to run the lighting off of 12V to limit the shock risk.

Light Number 1

My first light is a single multi color LED.

Parts List

  • RGB LED - qty 1
  • small water bottle cap - qty 1
  • 4 ft of 4 conductor flat wire - qty 1
  • hot glue
  • 806 ohm resistor - qty 3

Assembly

  • solder the three resistors to the LED
  • solder the 4 conductor wire to the resistors and LED
  • drill a hole off center in the plastic cap for the LED
  • cut a notch in the side of the cap for the cable to sit in
  • place the light assembly into the plastic cap
  • fill the plastic cap with hot glue

Finished Light

Here is the finished light.

Here is the light with the red LED on.

Light Number 2

This next light is a 2 LED assembly.
