I needed postfix to handle virtual domains contained in a MYSQL database.

Postfix is by default not compiled with MySQL support. Get the SRC.RPM and compile it your own:

rpmbuild --rebuild --define='MYSQL 1' postfix-2.0.18-4.src.rpm
